Vinci, city of Leonardo, in ancient times belonged to the
Etruscans, and later became Castrum Romanum. The fortress seat of Leonardian museum and the
library, dates
back to the early middle ages.
About two Kilometres from Vinci, at Anchiano, is the house of Leonardo's
birth, from which extends a charming view.
